Solar water heater
A Chinese peasant has made a solar water heater - using only beers bottles and hoses. The beer bottles lie on a board in rows, all connected by hoses which allow cold water to flow through them and be heated by the sun. "I invented this for my mother. I wanted her to shower at any time more comfortably," says Ma Yanjun, a carpenter, of Qiqiao village, Shaanxi Province. A real solar water heater is too expensive to me, so I came up with the idea of making one on my own. I hope this invention can be promoted nationwide, and allow mothers in undeveloped rural areas to have a hot shower. Ma has now helped more than 20 families in the village to make and install their own beer bottle solar water-heaters. He says he will build a public bathroom for the village using his invention when he has the money to buy enough beers. Via Szanalmas.Labels: durcheinander

Yellow & Orange

In the 70's orange was known to have hypnotic properties, it was used abusively in advertising and packaging.

A new artist is born!

"808) In my apartment, I move vacuuming* depending on my moods.
809) This results, in recent times, a large accumulation of dust*.
900) This drawing is supposed to represent the accumulated dust in a corner of my apartment.
901) I realized afterwards that this image is reversible." Momo.
Checked the author of the comment on my 99.5 post. It is Momo, and found this amazing image (in his post of April 29). Bravo Momo!

lost_in_translation

From the series of 7 photos, lost_in_translation, by the talented Austrian photographer Pilo Pichler. (Check out his website)
(Technik: Analoge Fotografie. Pigmentdruck. Grösse und Auflage: 70x70cm. Edition 7 (+1).)
I particularly like these two because of the prevalence of the composition (one diagonally, the other horizontally) over the subject. These photos are surprising, evocative and artistic (in the best sense of the word.

Spoiled

Jean Morisot. 1899-1967
Jean Morisot was a doctor with an immense natural talent for drawing, he used the pseudonym Jean de Sauteval and signed a number of erotic plates in this name.
Sometimes it's nice to be spoiled or to spoil someone.

Smile 6.2

Started a few days ago. Inside the mouth is a mirror. I'm just covering the corrugated cardboard with pieces of papel estraza using different patterns for the background and for the face. Raised a tiny bit the lips...

Rebar

This afternoon I found a weathered piece of rebar in the creek (I often go there and come back with loads of trash), Shaped it with a hammer on my anvil (a piece of rail track) hitting it with all my might. Rebar is tough steel and my hammer is not that heavy! Had a lot of pleasure doing it. I dedicate it to Martin Puryear who did some gorgeous circles.

Bordel 1900
